Small Balers

Our small baler range is perfect if you are a smaller producer of waste and recyclables and are looking to remove paid collection services.

With low head height and power consumption, our compact small balers reduce the volume of cardboard packaging and film by up to 90%, creating order, cleanliness and saving on space.

  • Mini Balers: BP3CD - BP4CD

Strautmann’s range of small balers are ideal for low-volume producers (5-40t per year) of recyclable materials like cardboard, polythene film and even general black bag waste.

With options from 3-4 tonne compaction force they make bales weighing 30-70kg, achieving up to 90% volume reduction.

The cost savings their use brings can be significant – imagine paying for only 1 bin or skip instead of 10 – how much would you save?

These machines facilitate recycling, reduce disposal costs, cut collection frequencies and so CO2 emissions, free up space, reduce time spent crushing boxes and ensure site tidiness and safety.

Materials: Cardboard, Paper, Plastics & Polythene Film.

  • BP6

The Balepress 6 is the mid-range choice for anyone looking for a relatively small baler that still retains the ability to significantly reduce the volume of waste held on premises. Utilising a 6 tonne press force, this model is capable of creating bale weights up to 80kg dependent on the material baled. What’s more, this model retains the ability to be easily moved around the premises like the Balepress 3 and 4CD models.

With a larger chamber size of 800 x 500mm this model can accept larger sheets or cardboard boxes and greater volumes of plastic films and other materials. This will allow you to reduce your time spent waiting between cycles and spend more time focusing on more important tasks.

Materials: Cardboard, Paper, Plastics, Polythene Film, Bulk Bags & Tetrapak Cartons.

  • BP10

Designed for small sites with big waste problems the BP10 baler packs a hefty punch.

With its small footprint and low headroom requirement, this baler can be located wherever your waste is generated, enabling you to deal with it at source.

Using 10 tonnes of compaction force, and with a large feed aperture, the BP10 makes bales of up to 120kg and is easy to load with bagged waste or recyclable materials such as cardboard, paper, polythene film, cans, plastic bottles and drums, etc.

A fast cycle time, auto cycle, auto full, bale eject, error diagnostics, patented design, low service costs and proven long life make this machine the perfect choice when you need a lot from a little.

Small Balers Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the advantages of a small baler?

The prime advantage of investing in a small baler is of course the reduction of a large amount of waste at the sacrifice of precious little floor space. It can be easy to be deceived by a surface glance; one could assume that a ‘small’ baler will not reduce waste levels by a great deal, nor bring a significant return on investment. This is not the case, however: our range of mini balers are perfect for general recycling that can clutter bins that often need to be emptied. Capable of holding most recyclable materials such as paper, plastics, polythene film, TetraPak® cartons, bulk bags, cardboard, and much more.

  • What size bales can small balers produce?

Our small balers can produce anywhere from 30kg to 120kg bales – perfect for any small businesses whose recyclable waste is causing them trouble.

  • How much do small balers cost?

Each page for our balers have a price marked for outright purchase and for rental. The price will vary depending on the baler and so it is wise to understand exactly what you need before a monetary transaction. It could be you need a baler for the foreseeable future, or maybe only for a few weeks to accommodate an influx of waste your business is anticipating.

  • What materials can small balers bale?

Small balers are capable of baling most of the same materials as larger balers. These can take the form of cardboard, paper, plastics, polythene film, bulk bags, and more. However, where small balers differ is in terms of the power they can exert. If you have large, thick sheets of cardboard or similar materials, a small baler will have a harder time at creating an effective bale from this material than a larger baler would. As a result, your botched bale could look misshapen and harbour a lot of negative space, which when considering the purpose of a baler is to condense materials to save on skip trips, is not ideal.

  • How do I choose the right small baler for my needs?

The right small baler for you will be up to your specifications, the amount of space you have to house a baler, your budget, what materials you’re intending to bale, and how much material waste you produce on a regular basis. You should also consider the size of your material. For example, if you have large sheets of cardboard, you may not want staff spending all that time folding and cutting them up into manageable pieces that can fit into the chamber when a larger baler with a big infeed would afford the ability to put the sheets in as they are. Equally, cardboard like this can also be quite thick, which in the baling process may turn into more of a bundle than a bale, meaning it won’t have compacted as much as is desirable.
